Brisk Emerald Bay Morning
Winter is my all time favorite season to explore with my camera in hand. There is hardly any one else out, especially at such iconic locations like Emerald Bay. Sunrise is my favorite time of day. I left my house at about 5am to capture this photo of the slightly frozen bay. My sister was with me when I created this photo.
Misty Donner Lake
I showed this photo to a colleague of mine, and she told me that it reminded her of Ansel Adams photography. Woah. Talk about a big compliment. On this brisk morning, it was about 12 degrees out and there wasn’t a soul in sight. I love that you can see the frost frozen on the pine needles.
Mirrored Emerald Bay
Emerald bay is probably the most photographed location in the Lake Tahoe region. Over the years, I’ve created photos from this exact location on purpose. I don’t normally like to do that, but I really enjoy seeing how the clouds will reflect off the bay. When I’m out at Emerald Bay, this shot is always my last one I take and then on my drive home, I reflect on how lucky we are to live in such a pretty area.
Wintery Backroads
This is my perfect Road photo. I love how the road curves to the left and is perfectly framed by the high trees on each side of the road. This photo holds a special spot in my heart mainly because just a few minutes up the road from where I created this photo is another photo that I still dream about creating near Sardine Lake.
